Show Notes Transcript

Have you ever felt the profound power of the ocean? Have you ever experienced that unique calm that crashes over you with each wave, reconnecting you with your inner spirit? Well, that's what I'm seeking today as I escape to the beach.

I share how this oasis of tranquility helps me recharge my energy and reconnect with my spirit. I am also drawing the anticipation of this getaway since I haven't been to the surf and sand in over a year.

As we move further into the episode, we discuss heading into a busy season and why it's essential to refill our cups proactively. Let's discuss the balancing act during these busy seasons and adjust our standards to prevent burnout.

As an entrepreneur, I'm bracing for the fast-paced season, and I share some tweaks to my routine, like cooking less often, to accommodate this shift. Remember, fellow entrepreneurs, it's okay to slow down in some areas when life calls for acceleration in others. As always, keep it fresh, keep it fun, and just keep going.

Welcome back to another episode of the Potty Report. As you are listening to this, I don't want to rub it in your face if you're not in the same type of climate that I'm going to be in, but we're escaping to the beach. I know you're gonna hate me but, like Crystal, really You're gonna share that here on the pod Like you're just gonna rub it in our faces. But you're at the beach and I'm not. Maybe you are, maybe you are at the beach. But I wanted to be transparent in me recording this. I'm actually in my office. I'm not at the beach when I'm recording this, but when you're listening to this I will be at the beach and we are getting away for Labor Day weekend here in the US and I am so looking forward to it.

The beach is one of those things I don't know. Usually it's like you're an ocean or like a mountain person. I'm definitely an ocean person. I love the mountains and I think it's fun to go hiking and camping and doing all that. But when it comes down to it, like if you were to ask me, where do you feel the most connected with yourself and your spirit, it's absolutely the ocean. There's something about the waves crashing and the sounds and just really knowing that you are just this tiny, tiny, itty-bitty spec on this planet and the ocean, I feel like, reminds me of that and I'm so looking forward to it. It refills my soul. We haven't been in a year. We live about an hour and a half from the beach, so we're in the Houston area and if you go just straight south you'll hit Galveston, but we haven't been, like I have not put my toes in the sand in a year and I'm itching, itching to get some saltwater in my hair and just have that calming feeling of let me just grab a book and sit and watch the waves and let that calm rush over me.

Because I had told you earlier this week, there's a lot coming up and I'm trying to refill my cup before the next eight weeks hit, because I'm gonna be going fast and heavy really from now until the end of October and while I'm so excited about it, I look forward to it. I actually need to go ahead and book like a massage or a pedicure or something for the very end of October, because I'm going to need it, but finding time to refill my cup, reconnect with the family and do things that are so intentional that whenever I may not be as spot on in the next eight weeks or I may not be as really just one of those things where just those busy seasons of life, like I'm probably gonna sacrifice a little bit of Mama's homemade meals I don't know if I've told you this before I make dinner like every single night of the week, except for, I would say, probably once or twice a week my husband. He'll throw frozen pizza in the oven or order pizza, but that's one of my favorite things. I love to cook for my family. I love it. Getting in the kitchen gets me busy in a different kind of way. It's like a creative release that I don't get anywhere else and that is going to slow down during the launch phase because I just won't have the ability to do it in a way that I'm doing it today, and that's okay.

I think that whenever you go into a busy season, just know that you're going into a busy season and don't be so hard on yourself. I used to be so hard on myself saying you need to have like the same standards, even when you're launching, when you're not launching, and blah, blah, blah. I just don't subscribe to those thoughts anymore. What I tell myself is it's a busy season of life and we're going to lower the standards in some other places, because that's what you have to do. It's a roller coaster ride, right? It's not a steady up into the right increase, this journey of being an entrepreneur. It is down and up and around and all over the place sometimes, and that's what makes it so beautiful. So I hope that you have a wonderful weekend ahead and I'll be thinking about you when I'm at the beach. I'll probably record some content when I'm at the beach and I will absolutely share it with this community, but that's all I have for you. So, as always, remember, keep it fresh, keep it fun and just keep going.
