Show Notes Transcript

Have you ever wondered how a simple routine can make massive changes in your life? Well, hold on to your hats as we bid farewell to the final week of the Poddy Report and reflect on the incredible journey that unfolded through our 1,356 episodes!

With 912 episodes of the Potty Report and 444 episodes of the Proffitt Podcast, we've proven that determination and consistency make the magic happen. By making podcasting part of my regular schedule, a mountain of episodes piled up before I even realized it.

But here's the twist: these five-minute-or-less episodes unknowingly prepared me for an intriguing challenge at the Ramsey Solutions Influencer event, where I was tasked with delivering a speech in under five minutes. Through this journey, we've seen how seemingly unrelated pieces can come together to lead us toward future opportunities.

So, buckle up and join us for this grand finale as we celebrate the power of routine, the importance of recognizing personal victories, and the unexpected ways our efforts can bear fruit. Keep it fresh, keep it fun, and no matter what, just keep going.

Welcome back to the last week of the Potty Report. Now, that feels really strange to say instead of welcome back to another episode. But here we are. I don't know how I'm gonna make it through this week, but you know what we're just gonna do it. It's gonna be like ripping off a bandaid, because the show must go on and we just must keep going. So this last and final week, I wanted to reflect on some of the incredible things that this podcast has given me, and one of the things that I mean it should be obvious, but I don't know that I've really said it enough out loud. So I'm actually in Buzzsprout right now.

My you know, everybody knows this is my podcast host and as I'm looking at this, there are 912 episodes of this podcast 912. And I'm actually gonna add it up. So I have 912, then I have 444 of the Profit podcast. That gives me 1,356 podcast episodes. Let me say that again, 1,356 episodes. Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? And 912 of those I've created in the last three years, and they are five minutes or less. Now I bring all this up because one I'm just trying to be more, I guess, compassionate with myself and my own journey and really finding the places to celebrate the wins. And 912, wow, I mean, this one is 913, which is just bonkers to me. It is so wild that I've recorded that many episodes of this show.

But also for anybody that's out there and you're like, well, you know, how did you do that? It was really simple. I made it part of my routine. If I was going out of town I was gonna record episodes before I left, or maybe record them while I was on the road. Like there were so many different versions of how I was able to create this podcast. But at the end of the day, if you go back, you're gonna realize that so many of those episodes like it wasn't rocket science, it really wasn't. I didn't spend hours and hours and hours prepping everything. I just turned on the microphone and said what can I talk about in five minutes that's gonna be valuable? What's a story that I can tell, what's a staff that I can share, what is a valuable resource that we can dive into? And how can I do that in less than five minutes? That was the challenge I think back to. Let's just tell my husband about this earlier this week that the purpose that this podcast served for me, I would have never been able to tell you when I first started. So in 2020, that's when I started the podcast and then in 2021, I was invited to come speak at the Ramsey Solutions Influencer event. And guess what If you haven't got like, go back and listen to those episodes around that time, because it's kind of freaking out it was a really big deal.

I had to speak in front of people. I didn't really know the setup before I got there, but I knew I had to speak for guess what, guess how long. Less than five minutes. Less than five minutes, that was the thing it said. Hey, you're gonna get this opportunity to stand up and speak. We wanna give you know, you gotta give a speech. It's gotta be less than five minutes. And I laughed because I had been for about a year and a half doing this podcast, unknowingly preparing myself with the skills and the training that I needed to stand up and confidently speak on five minutes or less.

Speaker 0:

I actually talked to Heather Heather's you know my speaking coach. I've talked about her many times, but I told her I was like I'm shocked that it's just five minutes, because had I not been doing this podcast, I would have not been prepared for it. I would have not. So I'm telling you this today just to give you some insights into something that you start that you're not really sure what the purpose is or why am I even doing this thing. And then something will come together in the future that you're like oh my gosh, had I not started that a year and a half earlier, I would have not been prepared, I would not have been able to confidently say yes, I can absolutely do that. So that is just one piece of the puzzle that this podcast has served for me, and I'm just so grateful for it. But that's all I have for you today. So, as always, remember, keep it fresh, keep it fun and just keep going.
